Fall onto Winter

It dawned on me today, that I'm not looking forward to Winter.

Not that this is something out of the ordinary, I can even appreciate some aspects that Winter brings, but it's just so....not Summer.

Being a toughened Minnesota girl, used to harsh, cold, long, icy winters, you would think that I would almost be grateful for the relatively soft winters here in Holland (one inch of snow totally throws people off here).

So maybe it's my age, maybe it's my surroundings or my state of mind...

Since there is not alot I can do about my age (even though I will be perpetually young) and I don't have a magic wand to magically alter my surroundings, that leaves me with influencing my own state of mind. Focus on the good, or perhaps the good enough.

Kind of like Rocky's (Mask) "These things are good/These things are a drag" poem:
Frozen lakes and packs of snow (like and drag)

Even more snow, snow shovelling (drag)
Winter @ Mississippi Headwaters (like)
My mommy (like)

Walking through freshly fallen snow (like)

Snowball fights! (like, depending on if you're the snowballer or the snowballee)

Christmas in matching pj's (like)
This X-mas seemed a drag to some...
X-mas with the aminals (yes I spelled that wrong, like to the second power) RIP Max <3

In conclusion it seems that (thanks to these pic's) I have alot more 'likes' than 'drags'.
Twilight, which I first heard of and saw few days before Christmas '08 (LIKE)
Now if only my long awaited Halloween candy would arrive, things just might not turn out as bad as I thought ;-)
