The Dudette Abides

Couple of days ago I watched "The Big Lebowski" with a good friend of mine. My god, I love that movie. It's basically about, well, a rug. That gets stolen.
 

And even though the story isn't really about anything but misunderstandings, a rug that "really tied the room together", bowling, Donny having to stfu, and entering worlds of pain, I believe there is a lesson to be learned. The Dude abides.


No matter how much crap The Dude was going through (and it's alot) he would keep on keeping on. His rug gets peed on and stolen, his car gets stolen, peed in and set on fire, a 'marmot' is thrown into the bathtub with him, and he gets beaten up by the chief of police. Yet The Dude does not rest till he gets his rug back. I totally admire that. And all agree, that rug really tied the room together.


In conclusion: 
The Stranger: Take it easy Dude, I know that you will.
The Dude: Yeah, well. The Dude abides.
The Stranger: The Dude abides. I don't know about you but I take comfort in that. It's good knowin' he's out there. The Dude. Takin' 'er easy for all us sinners. Shoosh. I sure hope he makes the finals.
